  • Pigmentation

  • Dullness

  • Overall Skin rejuvenation

  • Sebaceous hyperplasia

What can I expect during my treatment?

Your skin suitability for this treatment will be assessed during a skin consultation. There are different strengths and types of peels ranging from superficial to deep. From AHA to TCA acids. The choice of peel will depend on the assessment of your skins condition as well as what you are looking to achieve. Some peels can be performed during a lunchtime visit, whereas others will require skin preparation prior to your appointment as well as downtime at home. This is why a consultation is key in properly arranging your skin treatments. Our aesthetician will use a brush, cotton ball, gauze or sponge to apply the chosen chemical solution. You might feel mild stinging or warmth while the solution is on your skin. Some peels will be left on the skin, to be removed at home.

After effects

Chemical peels can cause some redness and sensitivity. This will vary depending on the strength of the peel and will be discussed during your consultation. There may be dryness and some flaking on day 3 to 5 as you shed skin cells.

After-care is important. Post peel your skin is more sensitive to UV so make sure you avoid sun for a few weeks and use a high SPF on your face as well as avoiding skin irritating activities (exercise) that will cause your skin to sweat in the days following your treatment.
