WHAT IS COSMELAN?
Cosmelan is a product that can treat all types of pigmentation such as melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation, age spots and freckles. Cosmelan is a peel procedure to reduce surface pigment followed by a special skincare regime to reduce pigment over three months. The Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel is a unique, multi-ingredient chemical procedure designed to significantly reduce areas of hyperpigmentation and skin discolouration.

Who can not have Cosmelan?
Pregnant/ Breastfeeding

You should not have the treatment if you will continue to have excessive sun exposure.
you have to wait one week prior to and after Botox and or Dermal Filler
Stop the use of Retin A one week before the peel
Have been on Accutane in the last 6 months.
For Darker skin types we take a more cautious approach. Specific homecare and treatment care may be recommended prior to having our cosmelan peel. It is important to inform your aesthetician if you are taking any oral medication or supplements.
How many treatments will I need?
Normally one treatment with homecare maintenance cream is enough to achieve good results. However, in cases of deep pigmentation, the treatment may need to be repeated, although after the first treatment the pigmentation will be much lighter.
What are the side effects of Cosmelan?
There is little downtime with this peel. Peeling should begin around 2-3 days post-treatment. Possible side effects include redness, itching and peeling. Mild peeling can happen for up to 3 months whilst using the home care products provided.
Aftercare
You are required to use the homecare treatment provided 2-3 times a day post-treatment to ensure the best results. This may cause mild irritation. You can reduce the use of this treatment to 1 daily after 4 weeks of use. Scarring and pigmentation are rare side effects of this peel
